During those times, most of the boats in attendance were Hydrostreams, and Scream And Fly was primarily a Hydrostream photo page, driven by the activities of the Wednesday-night boating events at Tanner Park.
I was in college back then, and no matter how much homework I had, I made sure I was at Tanner Park. Wednesday nights became the nucleus of all that I looked forward to. I also remember seeing my first STV up-close at Tanner Park - and this particular STV Pro Comp is now owned by Brett Freitag, the son of one of the founders of Scream And Fly, Helmut Freitag. And also one of the very best boat pilots I've ever known.
Tanner Park is seeing somewhat of a revival again, and Kent Smith of KAOS Imagery visited Tanner Park to shoot photos of the action this past Sunday. Kent has been shooting photos of boating events for years, and being a boater himself, he knows how to capture photos that best represent what performance boating is to us, and why we were are forever drawn to it.
