• Mercury Introduces White Verado Outboards

MIAMI – Mercury Marine unveiled white 300hp Verado outboards today at the Miami International Boat Show.
In addition to classic phantom black, Verado outboards will be available in two shades of white – Cold Fusion and Warm Fusion – which were chosen to complement virtually any boat design or style.

Mercury Marine engineers its paint specifically for the marine environment. The Mercury paint process offers superior bonding to engineered polymers for long-term durability. A combination of manual and robotic paint applications yields an outstanding deep color appearance, and multiple base and clear coatings provide a long-lasting finish, even in the harshest of environments.

The new paint was tested and measured by Mercury standards developed during 75 years of experience in the marine industry, and included in-lab testing for long-term durability and outdoor endurance testing in Florida.
White Verado outboards feature the same three-year factory-backed warranty coverage of standard Verado engines.
White Verado outboards will be available for purchase in spring 2014.

White was the main color for Mercury from 1959-1961. 1962 was the start of black and the phase out of white. Until now of course. The original white color was named Cloud White.

The only problem is I've been telling people for years that if you want to go 5 mph faster paint your motor BLACK.

I remember when OMC started painting their anchors black to "compete"... I guess we've come full circle. Sigh.
