I am looking for advice on which mid(motor) 20 or 25? I am running a 22ft Bahner which in a low profile V-hull. The reason I am wondering is because, water somtimes washes over the motor(2.4 merc) when I shut it down in a hurry.(mostly when I pull skiers).Water seldom gets in the boat.
I figured if I bought a 25in mid and jackplate to get it up I whould have the same height as a 20in.
If it makes any difference I am planning on buying a new Yamaha 300hpdi.

THANKZ Jay Causey:cool:

You may want to consider building your transom up to 25 inches.....that HPDI engine is heavy and if you "hang it off the back on a bracket" the boat may sit uncomfortably low AND may ship water over the back when backing down.
The 25 inch setup also gets the powerhead up higher out of the water for good idle relief.

But the higher center of gravity may affect handling.
I've been advised many times here about not using a 25" on my boat, and it has a 25" transom!

Do you have any pics of your setup?

Does the water go completely over the cowl or just wash up the back a bit?
