Just picked this truck CHEAP! Missing a box, rear bumper and some other parts. 1998 Chev 3/4 ton, 5.7l, 4WD, posi, 3.73 axle, heavy duty suspension. Should be a good tow vehicle.

Found a box for the project. It was off of a 1 ton, same year. It was hard to find a box with the flares to match the front. $400!! The lower area behind the wheels has surface rust, as it appears the box was used on gravel a lot. Lights are good, gate works nice. Just need a bumper!

My last Chevy was a 64 Impala when I was in high school, so I have a lot of learning to do. It is a manual shift to 4WD, I do know that. With no box on it, the truck would not even move in 2WD, it just threw snow around!

What's an Autotrac?

autotrac is push button 4wd, the electric shift motor and buttons are known to go bad for no obvious reason whatsoever. although the newer stuff has proven to be more durable.... I personally like the manual shift better. less electrical parts to break. my truck has the autotrac, the LT package couldnt be had with manual shift
