What if any experiences or ideas do you guys have on it? I am the proud owner of an 89 anything to say about them???

I remember running against one with my allison... seemed like a quick boat....
I'm looking forward to playing with it. :D

I have an 1988 with a Merc 2.5, I love mine. The boat drives like a Cadillac (even I can drive it) which is saying something. The only downside is the interior is a little small and the boats tend to be a little heavy (not the quickest). They do alright on the top end with enough power and it is one of the sweetest looking boats ever designed. I always get a lot of looks when I am on the water or especially trailering mine.

They respond well to a good amount of setback around 10 to 12 inches. Choppers and SRXs are good props to run with the HST. Make sure there is no damage in front of the helm from a stuff (they are weakest right in front of the helm and people have had them break at that point) not saying yours has it but good to check. Hydrostream started glassing in a strengthening member on the deck, make sure you have that.

They don't tend toward blowovers but instead run fairly flat so watch for big rolling waves so you don't stuff it.

Balzy and Steve Anderson (SteveA) are knowledgeable about HSTs they both own one. Can't think of anything else at this point. Good luck with yours and enjoy.

Thanks to both of you. I am looking forward to playing with it! It's has a 225 promax on it now. I have a 29srx that ran on my Allison and my dad has a truck load of choppers.

Where can I get a nice rubrail for it?

and new Hydrostream logo thingys for the side....etc.

Your welcome to try any of my props,,, Just be honest and I can deal with you.

The OMC wheel is nice it reads like a chopper on a pitch table and the rake is killer for picking up a heavy ass boat. I also have a Tim Hackey 28 that act like a 30+ on the tio
