I race the APR circuit in SST60 and wanting to learn more about these motors and what I can do to them legally, just in case I'm lucky enough to get inspected.I just bought this powerhead and wanting to know if it is a true SST60.The bore is the right size. Thanks for the spec.Thought about just cleaning the cyls and reringing.Working on a really tight budget.I know,I should have picked a less expensive sport.Any knowledge of these motors would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!:)

the difference between the blocks is the relief hole in the cylinder. You can contact Sam haraway or Mike Wienandt for help with identifying. The other difference is the SST 60 sleeve is different with different ports and the compression relief hole isn't through the liner. Many of the SST 60 blocks that are out there are illegal. Greg Jacobsen at Seaway Marine in Seattle just got some new blocks in, If I remember correctly.
The class really isn't that expensive and is a great class. It is the traveling and time that takes the toll.
There are some modifications (grinding) that is legal such as removing the glue lines etc. But unless you know what you are doing I would proceed with great caution.
What area are you in?
