jay . yes ihave fitted the planetry helm system you describe to a 195 allison vision powered by a mercury 175 efi . i found the system to be very smooth in operation , and quite easy to handle at midrange speeds..but did however find it a little difficult to straighten up after coming out of a hard full turn ...it was however a vast improvement on the other type non feedback rotary helm.....be fore you make your final decision ..take a good shop around & get a couple of prices on a hydro system , as there was only $ 250 odd bucks difference between the rotech & the cheaper hydro system in aust ,,,,,and let me tell you once you drive a faster boat with hydro steer you wont want any cable system ever again.....
hope this helps ...................cheers taxxivader..

Thanks alot for the info.I dont have much budget so this year it will be a cable system.Plus i may repower by next season im running a johnson 235.So i may be with a merc by next year.I am doing a total resto on a budget.Im gonna do the transom first then Awlgrip, then rig it my interior is on order and should be here tomorrow actually. My main concern was the teleflex over the rotech i think im gonna go with the teleflex. For ease of getting parts.
