Hey All
Recently I aqquirred a 98 Mariner SuperMag (ProMax) 225. The engine had wood in the water jacket around #6 and lost the ring pin. The engine also had a "noise" on decel ,as the owner put it. Upon disassembly, the Crank was pretty much destroyed @ #1 cyl. I bought the engie for my Bullet. Sleeved #6, new metal bearings for the rods, new bearings for the mains, and 6 new Vertex Pro-V pistons (Thanks Randy @ GPI). I was thinking of using a crank I had from a 2.4, but @ T-REX's suggestion I called Cy Boynton @NEECA. Super nice guy, he answered all my questions and even some I didn't know to ask. 1 week later I had the crank back WOW  , The crank actually looked better than new!!! The Crank needed #1 turned badly , and had a pit on #4. Cy also straightened the crank some. The Crank came with the needle bearings for the 2 rods, and Cy also cleaned and checked the rod itself.
I put it all together, and Cy even called to check on it. I told him after a couple hours of run time I would post on here. The engine is running GREAT thru breakin. I would highly reccommend NEECA and CY, they will be getting my customer cranks. Their Machine work is 1st Rate, Cy is a great guy (even sent a Christmas card) and they did exactly what they said they would. Good Job !!! :D
