don't know about stock (and I had a 245) but yamaha carbs work well, better than stock.

I had a 94 245 and the carbs I had were WMH's, they were nonpumpers. I hear they came in two styles.

They made at least 2 . Pumper and non. I think there are at least 2 non pump styles. If no one confirms this for you my mechanic has 2 245's on a 27' Excalibur with non-pump carbs. I wont see him until Tuesday but I'll check his #'s vs. yours. Mike

There were a couple of different styles of WHM`s
but according to my HI Perf book the 245 came with WMV`s
i have all 3 different style WHM carbs and run pumpers on my 2.4 and 2.5

Just because your carbs may not be 245 carbs , doesnt mean they wont run
i have built hundreds of these steel bore carb motors and they all run hard
regardless of which WHM or WMV carbs i install
the big difference other than pumpers is that they are jetted different because of different porting and adjustment of the screw behind the welch plug
if you like you can give me a call at the shop and i would be happy to answer any questions about Merc carbs
I AM THE CARB GUY!

I purchased a boat with a 245hp and the carbs did not have pumpers. Talked with Glenn Reynolds and the carbs were the correct ones for the engine.

Pumpers came on 1990 and 1/2 and early 1991 2.5/200
