IC... so thats what it takes for a superboat to go consistantly over 70... a black motor... I t is all so clear now.. thats an even better 1 gene

BTW where did you find that pic.. I only know of 1 person taking pics from that angle that day.. and never saw that one..

Those 300 R-motors (R =refridge) dont work on 24 SB's. Like stated numerous times by the Bashmaster. Contrary to what DaveS thinks & believes...24's need the gearcase in the water below the bottom to trim the bow to achieve lift. By lifting the hull of the 24...speed will increase. The only natural way for the 24 to get any more speed is a big steady chop. We are talking whitecap 2-3' ers here my little friends...not a lake ripple.

The problem with the Fridge motors is that their gearcases are so massive...they need to surface or drag waaaayyyy to much. This in turn kills the 24.

Dave S. gets bow lift from something called relief......The last 3 feet of boat was made with a built-in afterplane to lift the bow. Also known as Rocker. Thats because it was a jet drive in its infant dazes.;) I put full length center strakes and pad on it.It runs Ok for this old fool with a slow 2.4 junker. Not fast till a 2 foot chop to break it loose, slow in the calm like any other slug.:rolleyes: If I want Fast I will get a ride with BASH.:D Probably pee in his boat.:o Fast boats do that to me.:o

some of us have boats that will hold 7 coolers... 168 qts each... in 20' of boat... so it doesnt always take a bigboat to have a big cooler... just a big enoug COCKPIT LOL
