Anyone running a 200 on an STV ProComp? If so at what transom height and what prop are you using? RPM? Speed?
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am not personally, but a friend is. Again he has it mounted in the middle bolt hole on the transom, with a bob's nose cone (CLE work well to with this kind of power), and a 14.5 X 32 Mazco Cleaver. Look for RPM in the 6500-6800 range with a healthy motor. Speed should be in the low 90's.

Dear BRAD,

Back in 1989 when I first investigated STV’s, I was also going to put a 200 on it. Back then I was consulting with Diamond Marine in Farmingdale, NY. They regularly set up STV’s that would run 90+ with a 200. The 200 had to produce 6500 rpm and spin a 30” wheel.

This of course assumed you had the basics like, solid mounts, and LWP. I think the 200 will need a little work to produce power to 6500 rpm. Like some basic induction and exhaust work.

Otherwise your stock 200, if is it is a carb should produce decent power to 6 -6200 rpm putting you at low 80's with a 30 at 10% slip.

Prop shaft c/l at ½” above the pad should be a good height with low rake props like cleavers. That would be one of my choice wheels on your hull!

Sincerely,
