just bought a 97 efi 175 that has a blown powerhead. took off the heads and the bottom left cyl. never made contact with the head but some melted alm. pieces did causing some dents in the flat part of the head. the dome is not damaged but the flat part just inside the head gasket looks like it may have 5 or 6 pits caused by the piston pieses dinging it up. is this head still some good.

You could have the head cut if its not too bad... increasing compression
in the process, so you'll have to do both the same! Thats if they're NOT
already cut much!

Ruck can fix them back to new or cut them if you want

I can fix them with a 2 degree squish band and have them come out the same cc that are now if that’s what you are looking for.

It reduces detonation allowing you to run lower octane, more timing or higher compression with out a melt down making more power.

Sounds like a Win Win Win. :)

Can that type pf machining be done on 1980 175 2 liter heads? What does it cost?
