What is the best reason and purpose for using a slosh tank after the main tank. I have been reading the posts about how they can be set up. But I am not sure about the benifit.

Many Thanks

Carter,
We build an all alum. unit for $ 135.00 + freight that is 1 quart capacity and weighs 2.5 lbs,the purpose is to prevent fuel from being robbed to the fuel pump under high excellerating or turning with large capicity tanks and low fuel levels. With even a 8 gal Drag race tank with knock outs on the bottom with acceleration and deceleration this fuel can be sloshed away from the pick ups and cause the fuel pump to loose prime and result in an EFI motor being starved for fuel and leaning a piston out! Mercury sell a unit for $ 350.00 for thier Champ motors to prevent this from happening and we saw a need for on in the Drag racing application because of the weight issue and people not wanting to use fuel for balast with this unit if the tanks have 1 quart in them it will be delivered to the motor as the return lines on an EFI return not to the main tank but to the surge tank !
