Which motors are more problematic and brake down more? The 300x's or 2.5's

The 300x is much more reliable. The 2.5 is a high strung motor, requiring more service.

Wasn't sure if to get a 28 Skater with 2.5's or 300x's but I guess I know the answer now. Since I see Charlie T's Skater running that fast with 2.5's makes me wanna get them but I guess the extra mph isn't worth the headache. Thanks

stock 2.5 aint gonna get you those numbers. 300x's will get you close to 120 mph . . 2.5;s will get you mid teens .

Pair of stone stock 280's, 40 hrs, plugs & pistons had been reading nice, 7000-7200 for 6-7 miles, plenty of water pressure, running alongside carboat > "POOF" A big problem with twins is being able to tell when 1 motor lays down on you. If you do feel it, you have about 100 yards to get it shut down

Two diferent engines and two different prices. I would rather run 280's on a 28 Skater than 300x.

I have ridden in a few 28 Skaters with 280's and with the 300's and I think the 280's make a better ridding Skater. I think Charlie has the best setup with his 280's. The 300 x is a nice motor though. If I was running a 30 Spectre I would apt for the 300x's
