Ok, I have a 92 Basshawk 181XL with a 89 GT175 on the back. Hull is supposed to weigh 1250 pounds according to what I have been able to find.

Motor is on a 6 inch jack, with the front of the motor 23 inches from the back of transom. ( has built in set-back). Motor has the following compression top to bottom, left to right. 95, 95, 90, 95, 100, 100. It has been rebuilt according to the owner.

Propshaft is approximately 3.5 inches below the pad.

Boat runs 4800 rpms with a 24 pitch raker, at about 55 on speedo, and it turns a 25 pitch shooter about 52 mph at slightly higher rpms. Best speed I have ever seen is about 58.

What can I do to get more speed? I also need more lift, I cannot over trim the boat. I have a set of transom wedges installed right now as well. I was going to add a set of 2 inch spacers and see if that helped. Boat noses over when its on the pad and you give it throttle.

Thanks

Get a water pressure guage ,bring the motor up 1 to 2 inches to start and try and locate a 24/25 Srx or simular over hub or possible trophy thru hub.Compression seem a little low check in the tec section for the proper compression .

Water pressure is strong, I have gone up and down with no appreciable gain in speed, but I lose water pressure in turns only as I go up.

I got XP/GT heads, so I can raise the compression.
