Has anyoine ever shipped a cowl if so what was the price?what was the weight? and also what was the best carrier?

A year nd a half ago it cost $40 to ship a new Alien cowl from Bob's in Florida to central Wisconsin UPS

i just shipped a alien cowl with ups to florida and it cost about $125. I called fed ex and they said $85 picked up for the same box. they get you on the size. weight dosent matter. I shouldve stuck some bricks in there just to get my moneys worth:mad:

$35 for a 260 cowl and bottom pan- DHL... ups and fed ex both can blow me after i seen the $ difference.

Built a crate for my last cowl that went out.
Sent a Drag Cowl to Florida.
Was sent with DHL and it was $50 to ship with $1,200 in insurance
Shipped it in the crate pictured below.
Only way I will ship cowls, as I have had two damaged in transit.
Have sent three cowls this way, and all have arrived in the same shape they left in.

jerry had one sent from bf florida from noah to NY . it went through a trucking outfit ( for get who ) was about 100.00 . like helmut said its the size that matters .

When I was pricing cowls I was surprised how much more Eagle One said the shipping would be, seems like it was $100. I was worried that the $40 price (actually it was $44, I looked it up)would include $400 damage when it arrived but I got lucky and it came flawless just as it left Bob's. I haven't been so lucky on some other things. Crating would be the safest way. This was just sent in a big box with the cowl wrapped in that air plastic.

Every damn thing I touch seems to be costing a lot more this year because of oil prices or scrap prices. Where is it going to end??????????????????
