Hey,
Here two pictures. Where would you put the tank(18gallon)? No other solutions are possible. It's for a 17F fletcher arrowbeau wit a 140 suzuki. I've heard that they have a lot off bow lift...

For a performance application they go at the back.

Definitely at or near the stern.

I'll wait and see what news i get more. But when the tank goes in the back, my battery goes in the front!

When i have to much bow lift. Can i make this less when i make a bracket with more negative trim. So with a tuck of 5 or 10 degree?

....try a cleaver (stern lifting) prop. :D ;) If you have too much bowlift, adding any setback will only make it worse. You want to be able to run maximum speed at 1* to 2* of positive trim at most, 0* being the least drag. Very few V-hulls have too much bowlift.

Listen to these guys, put it in the rear.

Battery's can go on the outside of the stringers on the left and right side.
So can the oil tank if used.
Onboard battery chargers.
Also keep in mind your bilge pumps.
And this would be a good time to put lights in if you want.
And what is the pipe in the floor?

....it originally had an 18 gallon tank under the dash in the front. I found another tank just like it, shortened them both to about 12 gallons each, and stuffed them in the rear corners. None would have fit in the center with the ski pole, which was a very important part, and I liked to be able to run all weekend on one fill-up. Notice the battery and fuel pump port side, bilge pump was under the floor dead center. I had the tanks connected together so they would feed equally, but with shutoff valves on each, and a valve in the connector hose so I could isolate them if I wished. Please ignore the crappy looking wiring job, it was ugly but effective, this boat was not a show piece, it was a weekend ski machine, and my kids did not wanna hear about how we couldn't go kneeboarding cuz I was rewiring the boat. Notice the rear seating arrangement, relatively inexpensive, simple, effective, and very functional. :D :D

I like the cooler doubling as an armrest,I would always ride in the back closest to the beer.

I'm going to lay the tank in the back. Go testing a bit and when i'm not pleased. i'm going to make a pad on it i think. 6' wide or so... I think that a pad would also lift the stern. Believe me this boat has a lot off lift. When you give full throttle. From 0 to... top The boat lift that high it would flip over. I know somebody and with a 200 on the back. When he gives half throttle with no trim(all negative) the boat lifts high i guess 45-50° SO if you would give full throttle it lays on his back... The tank were it sits in the back is a nice place. it Sits very low there. So a good balance. I'm thinking of placing my battery in de front.... It weighs 1/5 of my gas tank.... I also could make a plate to attach at my motor to get the bow down like smart tabs or something. I can make a tuck in my jackplate. I do want a jackplate because i dont want to make new holes for different motors... A new transom a lot off suffering...

Pipe is for strenght and the wather that comes in the boat Floats away at the back where a pump is installed... :p

Putting the tank in the front is hard on the tank and the boat.It will also change your trim as you burn full and make best speed set up possible only at one(empty) tank capacity. On the other hand it may be better for ruff water and skiing.

Big Boy , How much floor do you intend to install in you boat? Just in between the stringers or over the tops ? Don't forget the fuel pickup has to be at the back of the tank . Otherwise you will never be able to use the complete capacity .Fuel tank defenety needs to be in the back , close to the transom . Battery can also be mounted infront of the tank , or under the bow. But you do not want the gas tank in the front of the boat ! Rich Martin 018

I don't think I've ever seen a tank in the front, especially on a "go fast" type boat.

Put the battery outside the knee wall to cut down on the possibility of an exciting moment.

The midlle floor on the lowest point off the stringers. It's original also like this and ik like it!. So your boat looks bigger inside and at midlle sit at the rear bench you have more place for your legs. It's like you want. I'm going to foam all the compartiments under the floor and make them water tight without draining. Wathertight = watertight. When i make some draining, wather can come in the compartiments and the foam will soak this up! Now there will be at the back a little place to mount the bilge. I'm also able to put a drain plug in at the inside... You never now when you lose it or forgot to put the one in...

What i'm going to do is:
Tank at the back.
Battery in the front at the left side or also in the back...
Now i have a setback of 5". I hope to make it a bit smaller and make a tuck in it!

Does anybody think that the foam trapped in the bottom of the boat is going to stay dry?

Foam ANYPLACE below the waterline = a very BAD idea. ;)

That was my question also... Bernico does it also with his boats and they claim it does www.bernico.be

.... it may take some time and be great until then, but sooner or later, it will. Ask some of the guys that have dug hundreds of lbs. of wet foam out of their hulls while re-flooring or re-coring. ;)

It is messy, horrible, stinking crap, if you are going to make sealed compartments = airtight, you dont need foam the air inside will keep the boat afloat for as long as you need.

I know, but i'll make it watertight but the foam gives also a lot off strenght! and ik realy need that! Original there is also a lot off foam underneath. The fiberglass is not so thick. I'm sure without my gel coat would crack at every spot at the bottom! With that foam it gives much more strenght!

I can also make at the top of the watertight compartiments a pipe to above which i can close. this at two places in the front and the back! And can let them open while not using my boat! Maybe than there is a bit blow, than its vented! This is what i can do....
