Could you use zinc chromate for primer? Isnt there alot of prep for an epoxy primer? Rick

You can't buy zinc chromate primer anymore, not sure why any sane person would want to anyway.

The epoxy is really easy, sand and prime and paint. :D

Ya I was planning on using an epoxy. My plan is to first use aluma protect 4400/4401 its an aluminum epoxy and then aluma protect 4700/4701 as primers. This is using pettit paint

Thats why I asked Bruster I know all the antifouling paint that has come out since they took the zinc out dont work. And you have to be real careful using other paints with alunium at least in salt. The interlux 2 part epoxy primer is a bite to use. Rick

Etch it with a good metal-etching primer. I use Du-Pont products and Vari-prime is the name of the ething primer. Uro-prime is what to use for the Du-pont epoxy primer. Etching coat only needs to be dusted on in light coats. If you want to save a bit of ca$h, use Du-Ponts Nason line of products. As listed above, PPG is a nice product to use as well, if not better than Du-Pont. But in my past experience is a bit more pricey. Good Luck!!
