this years proposal: 2 rallys 1 unofficial as the kickoff to the year on or Memorial Day weekend AND the big gathering in SEPTEMBER weekend AFTER LABORDAY!!!!!!!

What about the beginning of the summer, a kind of kick off to the season. I cruising we have opening day weekend during the first part of May. We should think about something in June of first few weeks of July. Besides, we might get more people, less time into the season to blow a motor and not have a boat to attenbd with.

Is the day, then you need to make your reservations at the camp site 1/1/06! The place instantly books up!
There are condos to rent, as well as hotels around, but the major holidays are crazy, (Crazy fun!)

Usually not as drastic as that weekend, but I have seen many people wake up after camping on the sandbar to find that thier boat beached is 40' from the water, or out floating :eek:

Yes the condo's are better but Quincy isn't too far, maybe 10-15 minutes from the top of the hill another option is staying in Wenatchee about 1/2 hour away...

try lake rosavelt no speed limits 2 casino's to boat to lots of free camping and low wind conditions the gorge gets really windy at times :cool:

welcome abord spud..... lake rosevelt........ to far to drive.... especially for me..... that is an 8 hr trip.... last year the gorge had BEAUTIFUL weather... little clowdy but all in all excelent water conditions.. look for last years photos and see for yer self..

also I dont think any section of the columbia river has a speed limit.

2 casinos might have potential though...... lets see what the other mombers say..... I am just the one pushin things along.. it is up to everyone to make a consensus....

Tshirts arent selling vewry fast... only 3 committed..... also heres another idea that just came up... since there is quite a few members from the Seattle area that also partake in the poker run circut in the area, would a short fun run with everybody, poker involved if possible, for a little bit of prize money, say 40 bucks a hand all proceeds going back to say top 5 or 10 hands be a good idea being that the rally is the same week as the preist lake poker run... or does everyone want to just hang out on the beach at the sand bar and shoot the poop.. basically just a short jaunt up the river say about 10 miles up from crescent bar, down to the dam and back to the sand bar hang out then finish in Crescent bar for pizza and card counting.. something to that effect.. nothing reall long, or too official... Ideas out on the table... let me know and if its a go ill get ready..

Cleavers are fine... it was setup using Greg Terzian;'s setup anyway and he said a cleaver would do great if things were right.. 28-30P if ya got em.... 32 maybe... 26 would be pushing it..... at 84 ive gone beyond the powerband with the trophy.... but it does work well on long runs.... got almost 5 MPG at the portland poker run.... 120 miles traveled and only burned about 30 gallons.. .

Caleb, how do you all come from the sound area, through wenanchie or through elensburg across the bridge to quincey??? trying to find a faster route from I 90 my direction... its a long run around by car to the island and im not wanting to do the run from vantage to crescent bar and back every night... especially if i go to the bar after the evening slows down a bit.....

300X's runs in the 90's most of the time.
It's too big for the river, not user friendly getting on and off at the sandbar, but we still enjoy coming over there once in a while.

You needed to keep both the spectre and the warlock, and simonize the 250's for a river/lake bote.... or you need to get a lake bote... so the spectre can sit when yer coming to the river, and also what ya gunna do about the silverdale run???? isnt the spectre on insurance layup in january??

considering that the water was so high at memorial day that there was no sandbar.... anything would be considered low.... is it as low as last year.... the river here is down but not alot and certainly no lower than normal for end of summer without alot of rain..

the priest rapids dam is a real time USGS recording station and has been varying from 18' of head space to 8' of head space and it is the next dam in the series so i can only assume that wanapum has been doing the up and down flux as well... in the last 30 days the flow has been fairly steady but varied... up and down for flow in power generation ... be prepaired to push and pull the boats all day.. or bring those fancy retracto anchorlines that keep you from getting stuck on shore.. its down but not abnormally down... bout like last year a bit higher possibly.... Caleb better bring all your props..... wont say why... after all the spectre is a bit heavier than the warlock.....

ACTUALLY all ya have to remove is the arch..... and then its legal.... BARELY!!!! or just pay the 15 bucks for the over height perimit and bring it.... just steer clear of underpasses, and low flying aircraft.

No, but I think you have to check in at the campground which is on the right in Crescent bar before you go across the bridge to the island. If my cell works over there I'll find out where it is when I check in on Friday and give you a call.

When are people getting to Creasant Bar or surrounding areas? Is there a plan of events for Friday? We are leaving Gig Harbor about 4pm Friday for Creasant Bar, and were wondering if there are plans for Friday night. We can't wait for the weekend.

I won't be making it up for the event.
I have tickets to take my daughter to the circus on Sat. (Sailboat race on Fri Night in Pprt Orchard, Poor Boy is coming, I'm packing extra tissue)) and Sun sounds like a bad day so I'll go to the wooden boat festival in Port Townsend on Sun, (Since I have an old wood sailboat now).

Open invite to Jeff, Caleb etc to come Sailboat racing on all Fri Nights in Sept in Port Orchard. It's a local beer can series so we won't come empty handed.

Big Props to Nick for all of his hard work setting up the NW S&F Rally Weekend.

well sorry to anounce that I will not be making it this year. I would hate to show up without a boat, and a bad ass one at that !!! I have had way too much trouble with this boat, and motor conversions. I have to mention that my motor built by AL. Stoker motor is perfect, but everything after the great motor that stoker built me has been a complete mess !!! What a story I could tell !!!! !!! !!! !!! !! !!!!!!!! Hell, I would have been better off buying a Stoker boat and motor !!!

I might be stuck bringing the Hydrostream, I can't get the surge brakes to keep from dragging to the point to smoking after a slow 5 mile trip home from Les Schwab. I am going to give it a try, what a dissapointment to buy a new boat and not get to use it because of the trailer, pretty pissed.

ran your tempest today... SLOW but stable and very controlled, best prop i liked was larry(stoker100)'s 32ET.. in about 1.5-2' inconsistant chop (VERY SKETCHY) i was able to get to 78.5 before having to back out we had a total of 25 boats show up, a 27 cougar came in today from wenanchie and probably 60 or more people total all in all a good turn out, shirt sales were as expected, and i still have extras so if anyone wants one i will be a bit more willing to deal, but my cost was not much less than the original 20.00 and other than a minor water leak and excessive H20 Press, and overheat on my motor which was caused by a exhaust chest gasket failure and having to scrounge up 2 new head gaskets also due to leaking water, there was ZERO breakages, which I think is AWESOME!!!!!

Thanks to Scott, Caleb, Vicki(sp), Larry, and others that had a hand in setting up, hospitality, and all the other aspects of this years event, Unfortunatly mother nature wasnt on our side to go to the sand bar and get a good group shot of all the boats but we had a good range of water for anything that came, from 3-4' rolling greeners to nice light chop, made fore some SERIOUS Chine walk shots, wheelies and some good air, may not be any pics (dont know yet) but I am sure there will be a few comments as to one little red and black hydrostream operators level of crazy.. or is that psychosis.. all and all THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE I CANT WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN!!!!!!! between our memorial day kick off and this years RALLY we totaled over 60 boats in 2 "events" not to bad IMO for our second year.

I am assembling the webshots page right now... some were crapy, some were ok.... not many in caliber of what i would call good, seems i set the camera wrong, (inexperiance) and my wife said she will take pics next year... because she was tired of my crappy pix.. better yet Maureen or greg should just bring the progression out and be the official photographer and pilot. will post in a few min..
