I am thinking about getting a Quartershot, (T-3, I think), (one bucket in the front, and a molded in back seat.
I want to know of any handling problems, (porpoising, etc)
I also want to know what one should run top end with a 2.4 or 2.5 200.
What is the approx. weight of this hull?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say.....Jack Barsh? Did you get a hold of Charlie?

I don't know Jack, (no pun intended), is he the builder?
Do you have a # I can reach him?
Yea I got up with Chuck, and if the boat is as good as he says it is, I will probably get it.
I am gonna miss that extra 10-15 MPH though...............who knows.............maybe it will be faster than I think.

My old T-1 with an Evinrude 150 at 1600lbs. ran 87mph with a 29SRX on the rev limiter. No handling problems at all. Mike

Stock 150??
Thats fast for such little HP.
I hope this one will be at least 80 MPH, (the Quartershot), but at least I will be able to walk on this one, the tunnel I have now is VERY VERY THIN.

OK, I will, thanks.
Is he the builder, or does he own one?

Jack Barsh is the owner of Full Throttle Powerboats, he builds Quartershot's.

Its this one here.
Maybe some of you have talked Chuck about this one.
If so, and there is anything I should know about this one in particular, please let me know.

I remember that boat now that I've seen the picture. I don't think you'll lose that much speed. It certainly won't be 15 mph if you do lose some due to weight. Good Luck, Mike

Oh Jesus, not another red one!

The tunnel I have now weights 430 lbs. so there is quite a weight difference.
But, I don't like how careful I have to be when I get in or out, or if I need to walk back to the motor etc.

Yea, another red one, but at least this one has Merc colors, so I don't think it would like to have a Johnrude on it.
But it does have a backseat that could be.............usefull.

JACKS BOATS ARE NOT A " SPLASH" THEY ARE HIS DOING ALONE. I SPEEK SO STRONGLY BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN WITH MY OWN EYES WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THINGS GO WRONG AND HOW WELL THEY HOLD TOGEATHER. HIS WEB SITE IS WWW.FULLTHROTTLEPOWERBOATS.COM .

I just put the check in the mail this morning for the deposit on my new T-3.It will be all white with a dark wind shield for now.I will be racing it in the 2006 FBI (Fast Boats Inc.) drag club.I would have to agree that they are at the top of the list for boats of this type.Jack is also a real pleasure to do business with.No B/S and no blowing smoke up your a$$ just to make the sale.He is a strait shooter with integrity. :)

What kind of speed numbers should I expect from a 2.4 or 2.5 200 Merc?
(a fairly stock motor) ?

I've only seen a couple of them at the races but they are definitely well built and Jack's a straight up person. I've got a friend that is also looking at one. Dixon

I'm kinda spoiled by the 430 lbs. tunnel that I have run all summer, this is definatly heavier than that, (haven't weighted it yet, but should be between 650-750).
I expect it to be some slower, but there is deffinatly a problem somewhere, cause this barge is only running 62 MPH GPS. @ 5500. (with the 26 Trophy)(the light tunnel , with one of MY motors, turns over 7000 @ 90.1 GPS with the same prop as above, 96.3 with 28 inline chopper)
Havent had time to look to close, but the compressing is in good shape all across the board.
I will dig deeper when I get time, (at least it didn't leave me stranded out there by myself Sunday.)
