Why is the rear most bulkhead in post #20 lacking the center cut out vs the one in the bow? Cutting it later as well as not allowing access to the bow (if it remains as pictured) makes no sense to me...

Here are some more pictures.... Didnt get to pop it out of the mold yet but finished the gas tank and got it ready to glass the floor in.... Once the floor is glassed in then the center bulkhead will get the cut out like the front one... Havent completey figured out the Interior colors yet but its definitly going to be yellow and probably have white in it...

be carefull. most boats( aka skaters ) around here that have glass tanks are being eating alive from the gas ..

They are using a different coating inside the tank so that the ethonal (methanol) which ever it is doesnt hurt the gast tank.... All the new Activators have it... Thats the way the new 30's are....

Has the mold been modified at all over the years, are they build differently now ?
brett567
11-27-2005, 09:49 AM
I had talked to Mark about the Mold and he told me that he redesigned the deck about 5 years back. Nothing major but it is a different deck. The dashboard has more height, and deck from the windscreen foward is slightly different.... and the back of the deck now has a little flip in it sort of like a mini spoiler.... Lightspeed (john) has the same deck that i have... he might be able to better describe some of the changes that were done to the deck... The bottom stayed the same, but i had Mark put knees in the transom for more strength and the whole boat was cored with divinicel.

This is interesting!
8 pages of detailed description of how the boat was built and now discussions of pricing…
How is this any different than my so called Infomercial that we have been accused of?
Where is that line Greg? Where is the line?
Or is the line only for certain people?

Okay Ted, since you want to do this in public rather than an email, let's do it.
You've been posting and promoting the Tuff boat company for years on this site. You deny having any affiliation with them, yet you use words like "us" and "our product" to describe the company. I found that interesting in that I spoke with Mark and he told me you work for him to promote his boat company. Maybe Mark should step up to the plate and do what others do in accordance with our rules - that is, become a Supporting Vendor. Better yet, maybe you should stop with the BS about denying your affiliation with that company and your self righteous attacks against my rules on this forum as a result.
Do you see the difference between you and Brett's post here? I have a feeling that you do and you're just annoyed that we're denying you the free advertising that you insist upon.
If Brett works for Activator, then the same rules apply to him as well. Unfortunately, not all people freely admit they intend on breaking the rules here or disclose the fact that they work for or are affiliated for a boat company (like yourself, for example), so we have to find these things out ourselves.
If you're unhappy with the rules here, then call any magazine and tell then you want to promote your boat company for free. Let me know what they tell you.
Any other thoughts or questions, mail me.

I am pretty sure not all of them have transom knees... i could be wrong... I'm goin with the 250XS for now... probably move up to a 300X after a few years with the boat....
When I blew up my 3.4L, a 250XS was available immediately(from ocean outboards Kryptonite)to be rigged onto my hull;so I went with it thinking that someday I would switch to a 300X. I no longer see a need for this switch, the boat runs 74 with a 23 Rev4 ,I am sure I would go faster with the 300(you think) but I am loving the fuel economy of the Optimax. I ran 100 statute miles on 30 gals of 93 oct. ,both offshore and in the bay. I truly love this rig and will not change.(well maybe the prop,I hit my rev limit a lot).Hope to see you at Tanner this season, we should be a good pairing.

Hey dummy,
Where in this thread does he state or imply that he works for Activator?
Why shouldnt somone ask what they payed for a boat?
Now grab a tissue and stop crying.
I’m not crying fatboy and don’t think that ‘cause your bitch-tits are flapping I’m going to tremble in my boots. You should know that Decadurabolin is a veterinarian product and no amount of whinnying will change the fact that your nuts have shriveled and there is too much estrogen in your system!
Greg, game on!
Let’s do this in open forum. I will not deny for a moment that I’m enthusiastic about his product, but the fact is that you are wrong! I am not employed by him and more importantly, I do not see the difference between this post and the one started by RBT. Please do spell out the rules! So that I may abide by them! As you said in your previous post on this subject, a quick scan of all my posts will give a clear picture of my agenda… I encourage you to do so. What you will find is my best effort to provide your readers with all the information that we were able to find in our efforts to improve our product. Small nuggets of information that we were able to share with this community. What you will not find, is any profanity, vulgarity or any put down of any of your members.
Your choice, what would you rather have? People that share information on a development and improvement on a product, or people who call out members with open confrontation and profanity in italicizes?

Ted,
Nobody ever accused you of targeting any forum members with attacks or vulgarity of any kind. That's simply not the issue here, although your reply to Sam may change that situation.
I suppose the only conclusion I may draw based on your post is either:
1. You are lying in your denial of any affiliation with that company.
2. Mark from Tuff Boat was lying when he told me you work for him.
In either case, the fact is that Mark is sending people here to do his advertising for him. That's unethical, and frankly, it's not fair to supporting vendors like Intimidator and Progression. I just can't explain it any clearer than this.
Would Mark build me a Tuff 21 for free? Why should he expect to get advertising for free?

.........What you will find is my best effort to provide your readers with all the information that we were able to find in our efforts to improve our product.
Ahhhh, another total non selfish act of providing the great service of public information. I always love that argument when it's raised as an excuse for milkin' free advertising space. And there's that "our product" term again. I'm sure you meant to say "his product that I'm completely disassociated with an only a non compensated obsessive advocate of".
What you will not find, is any profanity, vulgarity or any put down of any of your members. Your choice, what would you rather have? People that share information on a development and improvement on a product, or people who call out members with open confrontation and profanity in italicizes?
Hmmm, what EXACTLY would you call this:
I’m not crying fatboy and don’t think that ‘cause your bitch-tits are flapping I’m going to tremble in my boots. You should know that Decadurabolin is a veterinarian product and no amount of whinnying will change the fact that your nuts have shriveled and there is too much estrogen in your system!
And finally:
Please do spell out the rules! So that I may abide by them!
Spell out the rules? Again??? I'll take a shot at it: It's been asked simply that you don't continue to milk free advertising here. It's actually very simple .................. quit with the free plugs for the product here. If you want to make your own rules start your own website and then you can run it however you see fit. Simple enough?

Absolutely Not!
It is your #2 conclusion that is incorrect!
What Mark said, exactly, was that he would send someone down to the ‘Romp’… “ to represent” the Tuff’s. Namely me. His best friend and greatest admirer and specifically in this case, his number one customer. Literally! As it turned out, I was out of the country, on my real job and he came down himself.
The two of you spoke briefly, in which conversation, you suggested two things; one that there should be an independent evaluation between the various SOB’s and that he should advertise… Fair enough…
What Mark was too polite to say, to your face, is that it is highly unlikely that he will ever sell any boats south of the border (for a variety of reasons) and further, that any evaluation that is conducted by a source that is receiving advertising dollars from a customer, CAN NOT provide a non biased, honest evaluation of a product. Therefore he decided not to allocate any funds towards this website. As a result, out of roughly 350 photos covering the event, I recall seeing one picture, where the Tuff appeared, by accident, in the background of someone else’s picture.
It became painfully clear that any praise, evaluation or promotion that is taking place on the website is determined by the number of advertising dollars that are spent by the manufacturer.
If a catastrophic failure happened to a supporting vendor, it was not reported…
So then, what value does any comment have, that is made by a source that is depending on next years advertising budget. In other words, if you are a source of information, like a magazine or in this case this website, the minute you accept money form a manufacturer, you have prostituted yourself to say only favorable things about that product.
I guess the only question I have is; how do you decide between two supporting vendors that sell practically the same product? Which one is better? Or are they both good? Are they? … Is this responsible reporting to your loyal readers? What would want to make someone become a third or a fourth in line of such …. Praised products?

Wrong. What Mark said exactly was, "Yes, Ted works for me to promote our boats." I suppose you're going to tell me what my tax return was for 2004 too?

Wow Ted, how little you know. Indeed, you really are looking through some very effective blinders. Exactly what do you base this presumption on? So, if someone from the U.S. wanted to buy a Tuff, Mark would not sell the boat?
As a result, out of roughly 350 photos covering the event, I recall seeing one picture, where the Tuff appeared, by accident, in the background of someone else’s picture
Out of the 94 (where did you get 350?) photos that I had posted, do these look accidental? These are from my posted Rondack Romp Gallery (http://forums.screamandfly.com/Gallery/showgallery.php/cat/3047):

Ted, what has become "painfully clear" is your complete lack of insight into myself and this site.
So then, what value does any comment have, that is made by a source that is depending on next years advertising budget. In other words, if you are a source of information, like a magazine or in this case this website, the minute you accept money form a manufacturer, you have prostituted yourself to say only favorable things about that product.
How dare you make statements like that about me. Ted, do me a favor and never proceed to tell me how I "prostituted" myself to any advertisers. I think what I'm seeing is the very core of your personality here. You can take your disrespectful comments about my credibility and shove it pal.
I guess the only question I have is; how do you decide between two supporting vendors that sell practically the same product? Which one is better? Or are they both good? Are they? … Is this responsible reporting to your loyal readers? What would want to make someone become a third or a fourth in line of such …. Praised produts?
Once again, I'll explain the obvious to you. Where on this site do you see any official evaluations of an Intimidator verses a Progression? I've been to the factories of both boats and have a lot of experience with them. Responsible reporting is telling the truth - telling it like it is.
Ted, I'm disgusted by your post, to be honest. You really have learned so little about this site in the time you spent here. You not only make the Tuff Boat company look bad with this post, but you make this site look bad. Maybe you should take your delusional attitude elsewhere.

What Mark was too polite to say, to your face, is that it is highly unlikely that he will ever sell any boats south of the border (for a variety of reasons)
I keep forgetting that we don't have any Canadian members here who might be interested in buying a boat.
............and further, that any evaluation that is conducted by a source that is receiving advertising dollars from a customer, CAN NOT provide a non biased, honest evaluation of a product.
So Mark was too polite to say that to Greg's face also? Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE that's Mark's thinkin', or maybe just yours? In any case it's an interesting and completly flawed observation. So NO magazine or newspaper or TV comment on any product or service could ever be non biased if that source receives advertising dollars from a given supplier? I've seen a product evaluation ON THIS SITE of an item manufactured by a Supporting Vendor ON THIS SITE that didn't get a positive review.
It became painfully clear that any praise, evaluation or promotion that is taking place on the website is determined by the number of advertising dollars that are spent by the manufacturer.
Painfully clear to who? I spend hours every day here and I've never noticed such a trend. People who are helpful here and do good work and treat people right get good reviews on their stuff.
If a catastrophic failure happened to a supporting vendor, it was not reported….
What catastrophic failure???? What Supporting Vendor????
So then, what value does any comment have, that is made by a source that is depending on next years advertising budget. In other words, if you are a source of information, like a magazine or in this case this website, the minute you accept money form a manufacturer, you have prostituted yourself to say only favorable things about that product.
What evidence is there for that conclusion as far as this website goes. I could give countless examples to the contrary.
I guess the only question I have is; how do you decide between two supporting vendors that sell practically the same product? Which one is better? Or are they both good? Are they? … Is this responsible reporting to your loyal readers? What would want to make someone become a third or a fourth in line of such …. Praised products?
First of all products evaluated here are done so on their own merit, nothing more, nothing less, so where's the need for choice or preference. An example would be Flyweels. At least 2 Supporting Vendors are in the business of modifying light flywheels. I've never seen a preference of one over the other. The same could be said for cut heads and numerous other items. Secondly, IF (huge IF) there was such a pecking order so to speak (there isn't) why would it be any of your business in the context of the debate over plugging a product that you flip back and forth between describing as "ours" and "his"?

“The King has no clothes”
I’m not going to enter into a kindergarten name calling contest with your die hard members, nor deviate off on a tangent of discussing steroids (which is illegal up here) with someone who is obviously intimately familiar… I rest my case.
But I can see (by the fact that you guys are up until all hours of the morning) that I have struck a nerve by calling you out these sensitive issues. I’m sure Greg, that you are doing the best you can, from your own prospective, to balance the issue of ‘not providing favoritism’ to any particular manufacturer. By the way, I would not have brought names into this discussion, nor will I damage any manufacturer’s reputation by publicizing any misfortune any may have had (I can think of three). Bad luck can happen to anyone, including us (yes I use the term ‘us’ and ‘we’ on purpose) and it’s not my intention to air someone else’s laundry. I will not respond to who and what, in spite of your dissection of each one of my words… Raceman.
This whole thing started by a simple question, which has still been left unanswered. How are my posts any different than this one? Pictures of the building process, assembly, rigging and questions answered on how the product runs thereafter.
This simple little question has agitated you so much that you have chosen to attack Mark (who does not even log on here anymore) with allegations of sending people on here to do his dirty business for him. It is this that I (and he) find hurtful and is simply untrue! It is for this reason, I took it upon myself to question your approach to, “take the moral high road”. The marine industry is a dirty business and it does not need anymore mud slinging. At some point you and your administrators, perhaps at the behest of your sponsors, decided that my posts could be construed as advertising. I honestly don’t know when this happened, when I crossed that line, but it sure seemed like all of a sudden, you were coming at me guns blazing. So I took on the challenge and thought I’d ask all the questions that people are talking about but aren’t saying on here.
I was just going to post this and noticed a private message… thanks Gene … I guess it’s the nature of the beast, eh? We go through this belligerent phase when we think we are being attacked and then the gloves are off… I will give your suggestion some thought, but I think I’m pretty close to being banned myself and I doubt I’d be accepted back into this community on an amicable basis. Thanks for your effort anyway…
