Heavy if its like my 86 sunsport 200 20 ft. Check the foam it could be real heavy. I think in truth the checkmate is a better boat with the same lines. Rick

I had an 87 with a 200 on it it was heavy and when you got it going it was like trying to stand on a wet Squirel

I'm thinking of buying this thing mainly for the 115 inline on the back.it also has a decent aluminum trailer.i just wanted to know if the hull was worth folling with or keeping around.sounds like it would have to be in good shape to make it even worth the bother

If the price is right you can always unload the hull. I have been 3 years putting mine together and now that the 2.4 is right I thinking twins. If looks were fast this thing would fly. It is a different ride wet squirrel thats a good one. Rick

I put alot of hours on it and alot of beers in me, that poor thing we did beat the crtap out of it skiing ang bumming the beaches but keep it in fairly smooth water DO NOT SLOW DOWN FAST!!!! buy it cheap and have fun. just keep in mind that the $$ you put in it minus the fun you have in it should still be worth something to someone else..

If you put it together I can even show you how to do a Bat turn in it !!!!!
Don't ask??? it's how to become a canidate for the Darwin Award!!

I had a 83 with a 115 merc  did about 50 mph and was bullitproof! I beat the ass off of it and didn't break a thing.

nipp, that boat is way fun. i've got a 1977 with a 115 TOP merc and a panther trim kit that also gives you a little set back. run a 23 round ear stainless and she'll run about 58 or so. hang on though, she'll get a little squirrely. i think the set back really helps, because when i had my 1973 baja 16ss with 115 TOP merc without trim the best she'd run was about 50. the guys are right about DON'T STOP FAST ESPECIALLY WITH PEOPLE IN THE BACK SEAT.

yeah, the squirrel is hanging on to the steering wheel. we took the windshield off of ours, so the pup could get in easier. for all i know i might have picked up 1 or 2 mph!!!
