Just so you guys don't get burned like I did, I gave B&D Boatworks from Wanchese $25,000 deposit on a new 34 they have and four months after canceling the order I have yet to receive my deposit back legal action is in progress

That's a pretty big chunk of money. Was their excuse that it was a non-refundable deposit??

I thought, that was the point in the deposit. If you cancel, you lose your deposit....or am I missing something.

As far as I understand general boat building contracts are as follows:
Initial payments are used by boat manufacturers to purchase the materials for construction. This protects the manufacturer in case the customer backs out of the deal while their boat is under construction - especially a custom boat. Most builders will allow you to get your money back, but only after they sell your boat to another customer while it's under construction or complete it, then sell it.

If you expect us to make any kind of judgement you need to give more details.
This thread is useless and basically invalid with such a short statement. $25k is not chump change. Show some evidence of your claims if you are going public with it. You have 5 posts, 4 of them selling stuff and 1 baselessly claiming to be ripped off.
The B&D website appears to be a legit company selling some high end boats.
Good luck with your lawsuit, hope you read the fine print.
