Juss got thru tear'in down and inspect'in a 2.0 that wuz built az a work(and I meen WORK) mota...Cy @ NEECA duna crank for me, kuz I toll him it would be put in a tuff enviroment, and Basically have tha chit run outta it...He toll me how he dun tha crank wit tha oversize bearings, so I juss figgered it had to be better than weld'in...

After over 100hours ov torture by kids that don't know didly about runn'in a boat, pack'in more beer/rum/and hamburger meat than tha northern 12 states kan consume in a yeer, I brought it back for the winter inspection...The crank looked az good az it did when I put it in!!!...Bearing were still like new...I wuz very impressed with the way this lil motor haz held up.......Max RPM on this motor haz been 6200 wit an empty bote, and I kan't tell ya tha weight pushed when the 23' aluminium boat iz full!!...

I got one thang to say about this way ov crank repair...good job cy!!!...

I will soon be install'in one in a 2.5 that will see High rpm, and I also will pass that results on also!!!...I do appreciate Cy take'in tha time to shoot tha bull, and pass on sum ov hiz expertise on bearings, and metal hardnesses etc...Very knowlegable man fer sho...

100 hour inspection gita a 2 thumz up!!!...REX

Sounds good,do they mark the crank or maybe stamp what has been done to it on the counter weight. It would really suck to do a rebuild and unknowingly put stock bearings on an undersize journal. Dave

Thanks Rex and Bill for the kind words and press. Good to hear it's holding up just fine. For those interested, that crankshaft has repairs on rod journals 1, 2 ,and 5.
Dave, we engrave a date coded project number on the top counterweight. The engine block has a plastic service tag that details repair sizes and ties in the project number and our phone number. The tag is attached by wire lanyard. So, you can tell what's inside as soon as you remove the cowl.
Inside, the bearing cages are marked for cylinder number in case you chose to use them again.
The service tag for REX' repair is attached.

SuperDave,
Price structure is complex to keep as reasonable as we can. See our website neecaprecisions.com, 2005 Pricing, for details.
Regular Dave,
Thanks for the feedback.

glad to hear that crank worked out, some good knowledge for everybody that runs across a bad one.
