BPR and BR 8 and 9 HIX. Thats BPR8HIX , BR9HIX etc. The 8 and 9 range will work fine for most Mercs. The 9 is the colder plug. The R is resistor, the P is projected tip.

Thanks Guys. With Jays Denso information I contacted Denso and was told by Denso that the correct cross from NGK BR9HS-10 to a Denso Iridum plug is 1WF27. Thanks for the help guys. I have heard good things about these plugs. Thanks again

the IWF27's are great plugs and i used to use them, but i now prefer the BR9HIX's since there half the price and work just as good

ClubPlug.net is where we get ours. The Denso are great . We also run the 24 series which is slightly hotter. The NGK listed above are quite a bit cheaper then the Denso and perform very well also. The BR10HIX would cross to the 27 series Denso. Both are much better then what you were using. You will notice a crisper bottom end and better idle and less fouling for starters. Also we sell and run the top of the line Magnecor plug wire sets. Spiral wound with top notch materials, they are the best wires we have found and used by many racing teams for Nascar, NHRA, and SCCA as well. They have no RF problems with the Merc ECU's and are a great upgrade from the NGK racing wires which are stainless straight wire and much more prone to RF problems. The Magnecor run about the same price at $110 a set. The Merc list for $115.

Colder plugs tend to foul more, but they do suck more heat from the chamber. I have not had any problems running the 8 & 9 range plugs. 9's are colder. If you race and run additives that add a bunch of btu's then colder yet might be good. The projected tip plug is a little easier to read. It also moves the flame kernal closer to the chambers center.

The dash 10 just meant wider plug gap from the factory then the std plug. Dash 15 was wider yet. You won't regret any of the Iridium plugs.
