I had a set on a 25' Warlock cat with twin 260's. Smooth props with good punch. Too much stern lift. Lost about 5 mph. Got rid of them. I run 15x 30 three blade Merc labs and love them.

I had a set 30 on 22 ft cat with 2.4 245 to much rpm . I run up the moment 3 blade cleavers 34 pitch. The 30 are much slower. Engine height is also a important issue.

Is it possible that having 1.75 gears instead of 1.62 gears could be breaking the props from the little bit extra grunt from the 1.75.

You know Ive been giving some thought to this 3blade 4blade thing for a while now, and I know on my boat its alot slower with a 4 blade cleaver at any engine hieght. The speed difference is enough to make me want whack off 2 blades and make it a 2 blade prop. I see those inboard drag boats runs those 2 blade props at those ridiculous speeds and it just makes me wonder if it'll work with an outboard. what do you think?
