I have a 1995 allison with a 9 inch jackplate. Nothing wrong with it other than it looks terrible. Paint have off and areas of oxidation. Any ideas on best way to prepare and paint jackplate?

Take it off and find a powdercoater to do it for you.

I'm going the re-powdercoat method later this season... Cheap and durable.

I also had a 9" Allison plate, factory anodized finish was getting thin... I separated all of the pieces and had them powdercoated, it cost me 45-50 bucks...
