in what situation would you want a jackplate with a set-back? what is the purpose of placing the engine farther back? less disturbed water to the prop?

It changes the "pivot point" ov tha boat/mota...makes it easier for the mota to hold up the bow ov boat...It also inhanses handl'in, by spreading out the geercase from pad(or runn'in surface)...The further apart the geercase an pad, the more stable, because the 2 runn'in surfaces are larger ....fer exzample, if ya got no setback, your whole rig pivots on the rear ov pad and geercase, which is close together, so balance iz harder to control...move the engine back, U seperate the geercase and pad, thus give'in a bigger balance point.......Like stand'in wit both feet together, and then stand'in wit them apart....Kinna sumpth'in like dat :rolleyes:
