my old 2.4 plastic cowling was looking pretty pathetic / oxidized, etc. after trying many things over the years, i happened on something that works great!
i've tried plastic polish. polishing compounds, the list goes on and on. today i used a foam pad on a buffer with mcguires#45 boat and rv polish. it must have the perfect polish/lubricants-oils to really make even a cowl with heavy fade/oxidation look like brand new again.i used very light pressure and polished over stickers and all. be very careful not to use the edge of the pad- it will burn the plastic !(usually if you do you can smooth it out w/1500 grit sand paper ,and polish it back) worked great for me!
