I ordered some stuff from Jay Smith on Feb 1st. He sent it out 2nd day air UPS and it just showed up today.

To fill you all in on the towns up here; Anchorage, Ak. is 1000 miles north of us, Juneau, Ak. is 100 miles north of us, and Seattle, Wash. is 1000 miles south of us.

Start at the bottom and scroll up to see where the package went. Check out the delay the second time it got to Anchorage. (6 days!) Needless to say, the freight is free now. UPS apologized for the mix-up.

It also took almost a month for a fuel regulator to show up from Robert Twibble from Canada. I think I'm hexed!! I got the regulator two days ago.

Sorry, the cut-N-paste kind of re spaces it. Or if you want, go to www.ups.com and look up tracking #

I had 2 pair of CMI tubular headers shipped to me UPS for a project I was working on. Looked like they were shot out of a cannon then dragged by wild buffalo to my door, I will NEVER use them again!

I Have time and time again paid for next day air (sometimes as much as $150) and it always comes about 6 days later.

Had last item shipped postal service 2-3 day delivery and had the item the next day.

Go figure

my friend travels for a living in the computer business. One morning he had to fly from Houston to Dallas for a meeting. Three days later Continental Airlines found his bags in Soele South korea.

Some friends of mine on another board made a deal on some mopar exhaust manifolds. The seller put them in a wooden crate. That's the way they left Nova Scotia. They arrived in Colorado in a cardboard box with one of the manifolds sticking through. Down with UPS!!!!!

they did that to me in dec.. i called them they said no gurantee in december because the holidays. they have there own rules and thats it. i shipped a gearcase to ny when it arrived look like they flew over his house and droped it out of the airplane. maybe they thought it would save some time i guess. still trying to get paid for the damage. its hard not to use them though. wish there were some better ways to ship. i use air frieght some and it seems to work pretty well i think, rl

Ever since the strike, I was done. My friend who uses UPS exclusively (and still does???) was hurt very badly during this strike. Almost all of the marine parts he sells are shipped out of town.

They say that the package must with stand a fall of 4'. This is no problem unless something else way heavier falls from 4' onto it.

I received a part through Fed-Ex, the box had almost fallen apart, but the part was perfect. Might have been luck, might not. I know if it was UPS it would have been junk.

I bought a new cowling from Bob's Machine shop in FL,had it sent UPS ground label to my house in California. The people at Bob's boxed it really well and there was no damage from UPS at all.Too bad the product inside was poor quality, which is a bad subject all on it's own...........................JR:rolleyes:
