We did it. 14 boats showed up today for the canceled 7th Connecticut River Run. We meet at Haddam Meadows and could not launch due to high water. We trailered south to the Saybrook ramp and dropped um in. Headed north to Middletown and the Harbor Park restaurant, stopped for an hour and back south to Saybrook. Cheers to 14 diehard boaters that braved the cold, high water and debris. Love ya all Warren ;)

I had a blast, great to meet everybody, NO RAIN! Even a "guest" appearance from Rich. Thanks to all for a great time. Biggest problem is my camera crapped out, no pictures.

I made it with my 18 Donzi. Enjoyed seeing everyone. Had a great run up the river but on the way down I threw a blade on my prop (I had a small hair line crack and had it welded last month, didn't work) and it broke off the last 2" of my skeg. I was going over 110 when I lost the blade. (not fun I though I was going to be testing the chute) The boat shook so violently I thought the strap-ons had me blow my motor. ;) The prop broke right at a weak spot don't think I hit any thing. Got towed to Hamden. Then had a fun ride down to and had a fun ride down the rest of the way in a Hydrostream. Neat ride. Thanks Again.

Hey Guys,
That was definitely the fastest trip I have ever made to Harbor Park, and it was even faster on the way back... :D
Quite an experience seeing boats zip by you like you're standing still while running 75...
One first for me, I think I had the biggest boat in the bunch... ;)
George, we were getting a bit worried about you when we got back to Old Saybrook. It's good to hear you're ok...
Thanks to everyone; I hope to hook up with you all again in the Spring. :)

Well Guys, it's a good thing we ran yesterday... :)
The river was like I-95 to day; lots of big cruisers putting up 3-4ft walls of water...
The nice weather brought everyone out for that one last ride... ;)

Nice seeing everybody, good run even with a small crowd. :)

It was a miracle that there was more damage with all the debris.

Geoo,Glad it was not as bad as you thought it was a prop is a little
better than a motor. :(

That Sucks!
Is the engine OK?
I guess if it had to happen, better this time of year.

ouch, cut off the other blade and make a 2 blade. who knows...you should pick up a few mph;)

Engine is fine, all the commotion was from the missing blade.
Even at an idle the whole engine felt like it was going to ripe of the mounts.
Took the prop off... she purred and was smooth.
Changed the oil, fogged, ran antifreeze in her for the winter.
The skeg is an easy weld fix. The prop is an expensive paper weight. :o

Forgive the dumb question, but can you really weld that skeg and be sure it won't let go ??Also,is the ''planing fin'' on the bottom of your skeg standard or your innivation?

GEOO

Rik @Arneson say's they weld them all the time. They like to zig zag the joint to add more weld area.
The lower fin add's stability and bow lift. It's an add-on from Arneson Industries. I played around a lot with the angle of the fin and have templates and notes on it's placement. I have replaced the fin and had it welded a few times.
