So far i think most guys are for saturday. :)

We need to poll our out of state people on what day. Most have hotel reservations, the Ct guys can go either way, but the Saturday forecast looks pretty lousy now. If we do Sunday, the LI guys could go to both events if they wanted to.

I live near the marina, and get on at exit 23, let me know if you want to hook up.

The forecast calls for a chilly morning with a passing shower.
Not to be a wimp, but I'll probably launch 9:30-10am in Chester which would put me in Haddam at 10-10:30...
So what's the plan?
Maybe a blast south to say Essex...
I am happy to show you fellows a couple of the local spots, Sheldon Creek, Hamburg Cove, Nott Island...

10-27-2005, 02:38 PM
Maybe we should meet at the Crowne Plaza @ 7:30, and lean on our horns till everybody gets up.:D

Sounds ok to me. I don't carry too much gas, anyplace to get 91 or 93 octane to the south?

Haddam to Essex is only 12-13 miles one way, nothing like going to Hartford and back.
Old Saybrook the next town south of Essex has 2 or 3 places with high octane if need be.

platypus
10-27-2005, 04:21 PM
Yeah, that would be a nice ride to Essex, the time of year is right because there is no big boat wakes
for those of you like myself I am going to bring a couple five gallon gas cans in my truck and you can fill up at the boat launch if we end up burning a lot of gas :D

Do you ever hang out at Gildersleeve Island during the summer with all the other hot boats?

I have a 1997 24' Superboat with a BBC... :)
The only time I have ever taken a boat north of Middletown was with you guys last year during the CT River Run. My Superboat brother SuperBash turned me onto the run. Funny how a guy from LI got me to go to an event in my own back yard...
I do 75-80% of my boating in the CT River from Haddam Island south, the rest in LI Sound...

It looks like a good size group will still be coming... :D
Lets hope that the weather is decent and there is not too much crap floating around...

I got my butt out of bed early today so maybe I can cruise down by the river for a look-see later...
What did I hear on the radio? "A CHANCE OF RAIN AND SNOW MIXED TOMORROW". What the F*#@...
Now that was a Hartford radio station, so tward the shore we won't see snow. But is sure does not sound like boating weather to me... :(

Saturday will be 42 degrees and chance of rain...

Sunday 60 degrees no rain, much sun!!!

Sunday seems to be the better day.

Remember Haddam has its own weather system anyways....it seems.

I feel bad for the guys coming from out of town, it does not seem that Mother Nature wants this event to happen.
I have a few hours both Saturday and Sunday cleared with the wife  so I'm in if Sunday is the day... :)

It is always great to meet new peolpe with the same interests, so I will take a ride up to Haddam Saturday morning, if not by boat, by car.
Being a newbie to Scream and Fly, I'd like to at least put a face to all of the typing... ;)

The sun came out around 2pm, so if the boys found a way to get on the water, I'm sure they had fun.
Stars are out now and it's like 34°F...
I also saw a red sky as the sun set. What's that saying... ;)
Maybe the weather man has it all wrong...

George,
It seems that a group of crazys are still meeting in Haddam tomorrow morning. If you have to choose one day or the other, I would suggest Sunday. But who knows, maybe the sun will come out when the morning rolls around... :)

transomstand
10-28-2005, 08:23 PM
I think that low is moving faster than predicted, my forecast is for a partly sunny day. Only question is, will the river behave itself.

If I only had 1 day to choose, Greenwood looks more like a sure thing. Since I have 2 days, it's no problem.

George, I should be in Stop and Shop about 8am if you want to ride up together, otherwise, I might see you Sunday.
