There fine to use if you know how to use them. You have to custom fabricate one useing one K-plane and a custim thick sheet of aluminum.

Mainly just using it to help plane off a little quicker. I have twinn 300X's with about 23" of setback with 15x34 . A little tough to get on plane.

Your best bet is to call the us tomorow and ask for Jim Molnar he can guide you in the right direction. He's been rigging offshore race boats with us (mainly tunnels) for over 25 years. (516)378-0105

:) search the treads on tunnel tabs and read them first before buying but if you insist on getting one yes use a single k plane but if you can send us a pic of the back and side of the boat we may be able to help better

It runs pretty good up top with that much set back. Ive gotten a 112 out of it so far. but i"m starting to run out of gear I have 1.75. I need to change to 1.62 I figure I will drop about 500 RPM.

I was having a problem trying to figure out why you were running 34's. I still wouldn't go with a tunnel tab. A good one will set you back about 4 grand anyway. Ask Wildman, he has put them on the Liberator 24 that he sells.

Too easy to forget about to me, but I'm A.D.D. and can't do two things at once anyway.

And I thought my setback was big......

My boat has straight, non moveable tunnel extensions.....he's talking about a hydraulic moveable tab and those things have been known to trip some people up.

And that ain't wierd. You're wierd.........WIERDO. :D

You gonna be my ho on Lake George anyway....tabs or no tabs!!

I have a Dana Monster Tab 32 that I use to get on plane and to squeeze thru the hop, otherwise it's full up. I never trim the motors to get on plane, I just use the tab. Unfortunately, mine is #2 for me, the first one was a Monster Tab 18 that I broke off. While expensive - it's a very nice piece. The warnings that others have offered about stuffing the nose is certainly a possibility. You can minimize this by only using the tab as I do - and sparingly. Like most control inputs, a LITTLE is better than a LOT, and this is especially true with the tab. Just bump it down a little and it will settle the hops, as soon as you are thru the zone (mine is between 80 and 90) take the tab back to the top as it is no longer needed. I only use it at these two transition points - getting on plane and getting thru the hop zone - otherwise it is full up and pretty safe IMO:cool:
