I live in the uk and im thinking of importing a tunnel hull boat, my question is which tunnel hull boats are good in rough water ? the boat will be used on the sea and it gets a bit rough over here, I need something around the 20 to 26 foot range and not to bothered about inboard or outboard versions.
Thanks in advance.

I live right on the open ocean (Gulf of Alaska) and have owned 18' Hydrostream Virage, 21' Skater, and a 30' Cobra. There is no substitution for length in the ocean. If your seas are like ours, you better get at least a 30'. The 20' boats are just too short for the swell distance. Bigger is always better in your situation. Just my .02.

bigger is better, but maybe not so big in the UK, with their fuel prices

The 25ft talon bottom boats run 70mph @ 2.5 mpg with one 300/promax.Is that fast enought?

28 Skater. My Skater rode much better than my Talon in the rough stuff. The Talon is much easier to drive. Have you ever driven a tunnel?

Skatin,I agree and there is also a price differance.Does the 30 Spectra cost less than the 28 Skater? Are the talon types easier to repair than the vacume boats? And he did say to 26ft.
