Yeah, Messed with electric model boats for a short while. When looking for speed, they tend to get far more expensive then the nitro burning monsters though (for one electronics and water mix quite badly)

(Had a graupner taifun once with 18 cells and a 700 type motor. sounded like a turbine with all the revs it made)

44" long, about 14 pounds + or -, Picco .80 cu in (don't know cc's) 25,000 RPMs . 1/5 scale of my big boat, 18'. On 55% Nitro, it would blow over in a little over 100 yards. Speed was 70 mph +. Was real fast but had turning difficulties. Got "lost" in a move......along with the molds:(

2.5-21, I might be able to fix you up with a hull.

Thanks for the resize of the pics Tom!

Gerben...The water goes on the outside of the boat, the electrics go on the inside...:)

Michael Martin...your boat sure looks like fun, for a long time I wanted a Prather Lap Cat II the 7.5cc version, but I had too much money in the 1/10 scale elec cars and elec boats were natural and i like the scale appearance too. But the glow OPC boats are fast.

Fly...retirement? What's that?

2.5-21...I would tell you to look on ebay, but those things are bringing a mint on ebay (just like everything sold there). I am looking for a hull also, Vee or cat.

FCnLa...That boat looks nice, looks like an eliminator daytona. Was that what you molded it after? I have yet to run my F1 boat, but it is expected to reach 30 in stock form. That used to be fast for electric power, now I was reading that the electrics reach speeds of 70 and 80mph regularly in heat races. Batteries and electronics have come along way I guess.

Electric at 70? I would like to see that!

I like fuel. 25,000 sounds awesome. Still have access to several different Youngblood mono molds. There is one hydo mold.

I'll have to dig out that twin .90 Mono if you really want to see something wicked!  :D Twin .90 Hydro too:eek:

An interesting read for those who want to hear about 80+mph rc boats powered by batteries.

It is true the running hardware to achieve this speed is expensive though.

Do you suppose it had realistic two stroke smoke?
