rebuilding my 93 2.5 260, regretably had to sleeve the two bottom cyl. i went with the steel sleeves and now i am not sure which rings to buy. i friend says the gold rings (part # 39-848200a12) will work well with both the 4 nicksel and the two steel sleeves. can anyone help with this delema?

If you have someone to ulta slick hone the bore the gold ring will work fr a while but it has to be done correct and most people don't have a clue how to do it ! We run the 1 1/2 mm chrome ring from Pro Marine fo the 2.5 and he hd VERY good luck with them. The part # 481 and hey wll fit your piton perfectly andbe a match for the stel bore with no weird honing ! Do them that way all he time with no failures ! Give me call and I can order them for you ! 1 281 576 5088 CST

You must of got up early to type that. fingers all tied up around the coffee cup?LOL You think sense I am limited on piston choices for My 2.0 I should freeze the promarine's or go with the wiseco's? do you think the promarine's will live at the RPM's I will have to turn or should I use the wiseco's and have you beat the pins with your tool?

Jay is correct about the Pro-marine rings on a Wiseco/Merc piston. I may be wrong, Jay and I discussed this last week and he messed my head up, but if the 1993 uses the Mahle pistons the Pro ring will not work without some serious massaging. The Pro ring is compatible with a centering pin location off center with the land. The Mahle style ring hides the pin as it is dead center in the land. Come back at me little buddy if this is not correct.

I got this block from T-rex looks like skip's Scream toon ,you know the one with the metal detector in the back yard finding parts, I need to get pistons for it and only have the two pro and wiseco to choose from. I need to figure out which ones to use. I think the wiseco's would be better. I will need them lightened and balanced and the pins fixed so they will not come out in the finger ports. Which do you think I should use. I just don't know if the pro pistons will stay together at 10000rpms even frooze. I need to get the heads cut also need to figure the size of the dome to give me 200-220 lbs compression.
