Well gang, it's my turn to ask some questions again. I have an offer on the table to get a Spinelli Prop. Its for a 22 Velocity 225hp 3.0 merc efi.

Its a thru hub spinelli 3 blade 26 inch 14.5 diameter, exhaust ring comes with it.

I have a 4 blade 24p hitting rev limit at 64mph. Is this a good move for more top end? 5750rpm is the limit where do you think I will end up?

Thanks,

Ed

Any Spinelli is a good investment, You may loose up to 500 rpm, but since you are hitting the limiter. I don't know how hard, but i figure you'll only loose a couple hundred rpm and gain a couple mph.

It sounds like you have some experience with spinelli props. Do you feel a three blade is the way to go for my boat?

If your exhaust is system HAS not been modified in any way, then it this prop will more than likely work for you. I beleive that a Spinelli over through exhaust prop would also work in your application. They are called + or PLUS series, If your exhaust has been modified and is releived to come out of your midsection, you could probably run a Spinelli over hub exhaust propeller. The DR4 Spinelli props are the way to go. There is one for sale in Props For Sale Forums right now. The main thing with props are hit and miss and if you can try it before buy it thats a huge Plus. You say you been running a 4 blade maybe you should try a 25+ or maybe a 26+. I personally am running a 31 pitch DR4. Let me know if you are still stumped.

sounds like you need to go up quite a bit in pitch.I agree with hydropromax that you should try some props to see which suits your needs.Someone told me this once "Never turn down an offer of trying a prop"Meaning if you can get your hands on some props then you could find something that you can suit to your boat.Good luck

It looks like the guy who was going to sell it to me has reconsidered. I am back to the drawing board. If you know anyone who has a good 26p 3 blade I am looking to make a deal. Sorry guys no info on the spinelli. There are ton of props out there I'm sure I'll get worked out for next summer.

I have bought props here at Scream & Fly and i have been satisfied with what i got. Try to find a prop here. To bad about the Spinelli.
