Crappy photo quality when resized ??

Why am I getting crappy quality when I down size me pic's ( you know like to make a new avatar ) ???????
I am using and allsways have used PhotoSuite 5 !!!

Try using Irfanview. It's free, easy, and I like it a lot better than Photosuite. .02

MGI sucks for re-sizing photos. Use Adobe Photoshop Elements or JASC Paint Shop/ Paint Shop Pro. They will not chop up the image when re-sizing, and they often come bundled with cameras and stuff now. Many computers come with one of those titles these days...

pyro we agree again. up or down sizing is more compulicated then throwing away pixels [ which is what most cheap Sw does] photoshop uses a math routine to match the pixel arround the retained pixel as good as possible. photo shop elements [use 3.0 or 4.0] is a subset of photoshop and is very good for those only doing photos. paint shop pro is also good but its been several yrs since i last used it.
