I have been keeping up with the other threads but have noticed some people still have questions and one thing is going to be a little different this year. The location is the same. West of Chattanooga about 20 miles on I24 exit 158 at the Shellmound recreation area ramp. If you are going west get off at exit 158 and turn left. Go about 2 miles and look for the boat ramp sign on the left. If you are east bound go right at the bottom of the ramp and do the same. Most of us make the run all the way to Chattanooga (40 miles each way) There is gas in Chattanooga but it is only 87 octane. In past years I have added some race gas when I filled up before the run and carried 2 1/2 gallons in the boat and poured it in with the 87. Jasper is on Central time and we start at noon. The run up into the canyon is about twenty miles and is a great place to stop and float, enjoy the scenery and visit with the other runners. If you dont want to go all the way to Chattanooga this is the place to spend some time before heading back. The feedback I am getting is that there are going to be a lot of boats this year. I think we will need to spread out a little so instead of everyone taking off at once we will stagger the start this year. Nothing formal just after you get put in and everyone in your boat, head up the river. A lot of the guys there will have been on the run before. If it's your first time find someone who has been there and get them to fill you in or follow them untill you get out of the lake and into the river. No party at the Acuff for me this year but the campground should be rocking Friday night! Hope to see all my old freinds and some I have yet to meet.

What time will the run take place? I will be trying to get there before noon will I be too late? Is there any space in a boat (not dragging mine down from Wisconsin)?

Thanks

Bob

Chattanooga has built a new riverfront and dock. You can dock there and walk into downtown. There is also a floating place to eat on the other side of the river.

We are excited and ready. The 68 Switzer Shooting Star has not been run since the 04 run. We changed the gear lube and charged the battery today and look forward to having as much fun as we had last year. Robert

We apologize for any misunderstanding last year. A shake up in management caused problems last year and we apologize for those. This year the prices are right in line with the rest of the hotels in the area. We believe this years celebration will prove to be the best yet in honor of the world championship. And we look foward to seeing the best of the best to help us celebrate.

So what are your prices this year? BEFORE last year they were about 65 bucks if I remember, and I think y'all doubled em last year. If it was just a mix up, why did y'all never try and make it right with the long list of people who were milked and remain completely dissatisfied?

Apologize for the misunderstanding? Sorry, but that's just not good enough since you kept the money you gained from the price gouge. To make it right you need to give everybody that stayed there last year and was price gouged a free night this year, and THEN apologize. To come on here a year later and say "we kept the money, but we're sorry" along with a weak excuse just doesn't cut it................. as a matter of fact, it's downright insulting.
