Does anyone know what the differance in performance is with the same boat going from salt to fresh water? If a boat goes 80 mph at sea level on a lake, what would the same boats top end be on salt water? Any thoughts on this?

I Gained Almost 2 Mph From Salt To Fresh In The Winter And The Boat Seemed To Carry The Bow Higher

Salt water is more bouyant. You should be faster in the salt.Take a hydrometer used for checking the salinity in a salt water aquarium and then put fresh water in it.The meter just drops to the bottum where as the salt water would make the plastic meter or bar float.

2mph is a generally accepted number

I know why it is faster, I sometimes explain it to people that the water is denser and provides better boyancy, and "traction". I wasn't sure what the extra performance was.
Thanks,

I Was Under The Impression That Freshwater Water More Slippery And Thats Why I Went Faster In It. But It Could Have Also Been The Fact That The Air Temp And Conditions Were Rite.

When I plug in the factors in the prop calculators, I am assuming a 10% slip in fresh water, any ideas what it might be for salt?
