Well fall is fast aproaching so on Saturday I decided to take the Eliminator to the river. Before leaving I did my usual checks on the hull/engine.I decided to drain the lube in the sporty. When I pulled the plug I had metal chips balled up on the magnet. Not a huge ammount but they are about 1/32"to 1/16" in size.As much as I hate to say it,Iam done for the rest of the year.Which leads me to my question-whos good to call for going through a sportmaster?? ..Any help is appreciated..........Rob ;)

Rob,

If your gonna "Brown Truck" it I have a guy in the Houston area that is good with lower units , he's a dealer ....

FYI... Crate that thing up like it was a piece of fine china the "brown" has a reputation of smoking gearcases during freight !

I second that. I built a plywood crate that would have survived a nuclear war. It barely survived UPS.

I don't know about Jay's guy, but Dave Steckbauer is close to you and knows his stuff. He used to build gearcases for Mercury Racing.
