Which way will help planing, and the pros and cons of turning inward or outward? Boat is a '90 Daytona 24' with pair of '05 250XS 1.62 SM and 9.5" of setback. It planes better with 15x32 3 bld merc cleavers than 14.5x28 4 bld merc cleavers but neither is acceptable. Tried 24" Bravo 1's(non vented)and they kept engine rpm's from spooling up. Weight distribution is probably biggest problem but I would only be able to move batteries and oil tanks forward. Normal load is 2 adults, 2 teenagers, 1/2 tank fuel(50 gal), cooler and required safety gear. It had Bridgeports before and they had same problem and were combined 300 lbs lighter. Would tabs help or is there better props for this application? Would like to try the new Bravo 1's with factory vent holes and lab finish but too many $ going to props, not enough to fun.
Talked to Merc racing about ET's but they said that would be a gamble as well.

I have a 26 offshore tunnel twin 300pm's planes better with 30 and 34 bravo 1's with 1 inch vent holes than my 141/2 by 32 four blade mec lab clevers but 10 mph slower, everything else is better but the speed.Trim tabs for you?I think so.In the tunnel tops, maybe fixed ones. You are welcome to try my bravo's if you like but I think their best for big hp i/o's and it would be a waste of shipping $.But they do hold water jacked to the moon.

We have a guy up here that has a 23 Daytona with 2 4.0 Litre V-8s.He put a single Merc trim tab(the long one) on the center pod, when he goes to plane he runs it down takes off and runs it back up.He said it planes ten times better with it than without.

Thanks for the replies, trim tabs are probably what it needs. I may expeiriment with swapping the lowers too.
Tampa Cat, the offer is appreiciated on the Bravos but I think 28's would be all the 250's could spin.
Anyone else with info, would be glad to here what works and does not.
Thanks,
Danny

I have a 25 motion w/ twin 2.5 efi's and tried them spininng in and out. The boat is faster spininning them in and get a little more stern lift.

general rule is spin in for speed, spin out for control and handliong at slower speeds..
