Edited video from Saturday at Hardy Party '05. A big party at the sandbar with some outboard drag racing, all with PERFECT weather, 83 and sunny. What a blast!
A sample of Saturday's recreational activities:

I fixed the dead link.

What a geat weekend!! It was great to see everyone. Glad that Pops and Rick A. came up and slaughtered the fish population (even though they released them). I'll be looking forward to running Frank next year with the fire breathing OMC on nitrous. Tom

Nice! Looks like that might be the last high temp weekend too, they are saying no more hot temps and 70s this week. 70s not bad though:)

Wish I could have stayed longer on Sunday. Everyone wanted to see us top out our XT's side by side. There were at least 6 Hydrostreams on the water: our Vegas XT's, a pair of Valero YT's, Jrider's HST, and a Vector, I think I saw a Vulture or a V-King down by Sandy Beach as well.

Did anyone take any pics of me running against that Hydro ?
I had to listen to sour grapes for the rest of the day and Sunday too from the V-Drive Hydro driver. "If we had gone farther........I was catching up.......when can we run again"

I took the engine out of the boat and pulled off the oil pan. It looks like I need a new oil pump and a couple other small repairs. It appears that the pickup hasn't been on the end of the oil pump tube for a while ( like all season ). That explains some things. The tube sucked up a piece of aluminum that had broke off the inside of the oil pan windage tray and it found it's way to the oil pump and that's what siezed it up and caused me to loose all oil pressure saturday. If the pick up hadn't broke off, the screen on the pickup would have stopped it and there wouldn't have been a problem.
I looked at #1 rod bearing and it looks good.
Hopefully the rest are OK too.

I must have wound that engine up to 7k at least 50 times this season without an oil pump pickup.
It could have been a lot worse.

I hope to throw a hun at it and be back on the water by the weekend.

What the....! Oil pickup? You never know what will go in a boat. I thought for sure you were going to say that screen was too restrictive for your motor:D Hope its all OK inside, been there before.

I didn't want to lose my parking spot! Every time someone from "outboard row" tried to go for a ride, a f---ing I/O, pontoon or jet boat would steal their parking spot.

Don't count on getting beat, my motor's getting tired. I took Kibbey for a ride, with a spare full 5 gal gas can and a full cooler on board, the two of us could barely hit 70. We'll run 'em next summer...

I got everything repaired on my ride and was back on the water yesterday at Brower. It only cost me $ 70. for a new oil pump, pump driveshaft, and pickup, along with about 4 or 5 hours of wrenching. Good thing I have a TIG welder in the garage too.

Now that I fixed the oil pump I'm ready for a few more blasts before the season is out.
I keep hearing some suggestions that I should run Mr. Terhorst.
I've never met him or seen his boat but I'm ready to have a go at it.

I never saw your squirter run at the sandbar. Next year I'll have to get some video. I really wanted to see you spanking that little hydro. Wow, what a fast couple of boats. All the outboards here got a lot of respect for you, it's got the bark AND the bite!

And I WILL be back at Hardy at least twice next summer!

Hey Pyro, it was -1 degrees here this morning at about 7:30 and I was out in the open garage in my pjs squirting alcohol in the door latch of the car so it would close again...about 2 minutes after I got up....it was cold! D-loading a hardy video sounds like a good thing to do today for sure.

Nice video work...What MPH are they running ??? Were the Hydrostreams quick/fast ???

pyro

Over 100... The sandbar is a great place to race once all the big blocks are done cruising up and down the strip late in the afternoon.

The Hydrostreams weren't racing much. There was another Vegas XT there also with a 200, and also a Valero YT with a 260. (G-train and son.) I saw a nice red flake Vector or V-king there as well, and JRider with his orange and white HST. He made a few nice passes, it will be faster this summer, he says.

I made an aired out pass by the sandbar in my boat at 70 mph/6900 with the 24p with Kibbey riding shotgun, then Darren let me take my wife for a ride in his Talon 22/260, he insisted that I drive it, his wife wasn't too happy about it. G-train's son was trying to run me, but I already knew he was faster, and I'm not about to race someone else's boat. We made a smooth 80 mph pass, that Talon drives like it's on rails, but it doesn't feel the chop.
Real nice. Thanks again, Darren, wherever you are. (I don't know their last names, Darren and Dave are brothers, they both own Talons)
