Hi!

Have anyone of you any experience with Valvoline Synpower 2-T full synthetic outboard oil? I have used it this season on my PM300 (100hrs). All plugs have been very clean with no deposits at all, and the porcelen / electrode have been caramel brown. However, I feel the engine sounds harder on idle than before using semi synthetic oil.

Unfortunately it is very difficult to get hold of other brands of synthetic oil in Norway. Castrol is the other brand distributed here. If not, you have to buy Evinrude Etec Oil, Yamaha oil, Merc Premium Plus, etc.

Cheeers, Toffen G

Although I don't have any experiance with Valvoline two cycle oils.. Valvoline is an accomplished company with a lot of people who know what it takes to make quality lubricants, and there budget is certainly not small... I wouldn't wouldn't be afraid to use it...That is my opinion base on faith, and not on direct experiance...

I have a friend in Denmark who I believed experienced blue bearings on his 8000 rpm Yamaha using Valvoline Synthetic. That is harsher conditions than your Promax experiences, though.

I am not disregarding your friends suspitions, but that is a lot of rpm's for a Yamaha and could have been easily caused by a lean fuel delivery condition..

Ted, you are right. And I think some people on S&F have had good experience with the stuff.

Maybe it's a European brand only?
