to know if anyone here has owned or has ever rigged a Cougar Cub.
What kind of power can these hulls handle safely. My son has plenty of seat time in my 500HP Carlson jet, so I feel comfortable with his abilities. I just don't want to tear the boat in half.
I don't have pics yet. We're picking it up Saturday Morning. A birthday present he doesn't know about yet.
Thanks for you help.

If you are talking about the 11-12 footer's they can be a handful if you over power them or turn to hard. 15-25 hp is plenty. Easy on the turns..

I'm putting one together with a 1960 Merc 300 ( 4 banger) on it I'll keep ya posted I just got the starter back and am planning on getting it running this weekend. Ive had it out with my fat azz (180 lbs) and its about all you want in them, they plane hard and like outlaw said easy on the turns till you get the hang of it. I think a 25 would be great for the kids though thats the plan for this one post a pic if you get a chance and I'll try to snap on my self

Finally got a pic. I'd like to find a late 80's 20HP Mariner. 4 cyl is gonna be to heavy, but I like the way you think.

Well I got mine running I ran a 35 mph on GPS with it?? a little slower I don't know why?? but there are plans for a transome jack to get some height on the motor. I also plan to move the battery back and maybe try to find a place to put fuel other than under the dash.. I want to air this thing out. and get more besides I havn't been hurt in it yet!!
I'll keep ya posted and I'm still working on a pic
Later

That boat is holding a 4 cyl afloat? Looks pretty sweet!
I really need to reconsider my engine choice:p

Appairently you didn't look at the last few seconds of the vid when I stop?? I want to put a small Jack plate to lift the motor but I may end up going down backwards if I move any wieght to the back but we'll see. I think that more ponies in a smaller package is the real deal.
