If you read my other post, you already know I broke the plastic vent cap off of the center of my VRO filler cap. So now the vent hole is directly exposed and could have dirt get into it. Well, after we realized we weren't going to get the broken piece out of the gas tank that it fell into (laugh it up, go ahead), we were looking around the garage for something to cover the vent hole but would still allow it to breathe. We found it--an Aerosol can cap---and it fits over the entire filler cap. This particular cap came from a can of Finish 2001 tire shining foam and fits perfectly--just tight enough. We just drilled a little air hole in it and now I have something that fits over the entire filler cap and keeps dirt out of the vent hole.

You didn't really think I would buy a new filler cap, did you?

Pretty neat, huh?
