All I can say is WOW!!
To think I almost blew it off this year due to scheduling conflicts.
Met and re-met the most amazing people!!!
I'm sure SpeedRacer will post "official" results but I will spill a few tib bits.
First off, "G-Train"s name is now "Mr. G-Train"!!
First he went out (4 seat River Roket w/a 2.5) and took second in the radar runs @ 121.
Jeff Young "Hydro", "Da-Man" won it over all w/a 128 in his JohnRude powered 3 pointer. Two points on this. #1 the weather had worsened by the time we got boats in water and the wind was blowing. #2. Jeff did his passes on "ALL MOTOR" (still bummed about the video Jeff)
But G-Train went freagin 121 in a boat that was scary to watch. (I have good video of his three passes before he decided second was good enough ;) )
Greg (G-Train) then signed up and drag raced in the 4 seat "Lake Racer" class.
And won!
Today he ran "Pro Gas" and took third over all!! Very freagin impressive "Mr. G-Train"!!
Blake Sewell from Ontario won Pro Gas over all w/a very trick STV R.R. and a fire breathing 2.5.
Blake beat "AircraftMan"s (Chris Wurth) killer Alli (A freagin BASS BOAT!!!) in the final.
Blakes win was the only thing the Canucks had to brag about though as their country went down in a ball of flames in the annual US vs Canuckville drinking contest. That makes it a 4 - 0 shut out.
BTW Yammer, you sleeping in the truck don't mean you were there ;)
My boy Tavis (O/B's for life) and me finished off the last Canuck standing with air to spare by 4:00 A.M. Fri.
Last night they were a no show as of 4:15 A.M. when I left. I felt confident with US team support of Kapn. Kirk, K.K.'s dad :), Warlock Dave, Charlie M., Big John, Father Steve and others still going strong :D ;) :p
In all seriousness it is always a pleasure meeting the guys from up North. They are all a very classy bunch and I take great pride in calling them "ALL" GREAT FRIENDS!!
Plus their stuff hauls ass!
Also closed down the Tiki Bar last night with "Thaw Ripper" and crew along with 20 or so other trouble makes at our table after the "drunk" (heard he was a Canadian ;) ) was escorted away.
What a great bunch!!
Had two high lights for my weekend one of which was riding with my bestest buds Mike and Jimmy in Mikes 300X powered Mirage in the Poker Run. Also had the new "Tourism Director" for the city of Carrolton with us making it four in the boat.
I saw Mikes GPS speedo @ 104 several times (and there was more left with 4 freagin people in the boat!) before we got to the last card stop.
Oh yeah, we did get there first. (butttt, it was a Poker Run and not a race  ) Ike ran 109 in the Radar runs in questionable conditions.
Second highlight was when my buddy Tim (TB21) tossed me the keys to his lethal Alli basser powered by his home brewed Merc/Wayne Taylor/Brucato 2.5.
I think there's still butt cheek marts in the seat and I know there's finger nail cuts in the steering wheel :o
Thanks to both you guys, you are class acts!
Mr. and Mrs. SpeedRacer did an awesome job as hosts as always.
Rob King, Brad Murphy (Baja 18) and both of their wives took care of the Poker run and raffle again this year. What a great crew and thanks to you guys!
BTW, I finally got see Brads killer Flow run after being dialed and Brad getting some time in behind the wheel. Incredible my friend!!
The thing launches hard, straight and flys excellent. His and Rob K's are wo/o question the fastest flows I've ever seen in my life!!
Great driving exhibition Brad!!
What a Hoot!
Oh well, gotta go. I'm late for re-hab
P.S., T.B. I missed you today before I had to leave. I'll call you today or tomorrow to see what might be going on in the next couple weekends??
Maybe the big lake or Buckeye. Buckeye rocks but you'd need a place to stay.
The Sonic sleeps two comfortable but unless Kim has a friend ;) I call yah buddy!
