Hi!

I have finished my custom made setback bracket today made of 10 mm stainless steel. The weight proved to be substantial, approx. 30 kilos / 66 lbs for a 6,5 inch setback bracket. However, it is stronger than most. The weight is similar to the stainless steel CMC lift I have. Total weight for the setback brackets are 65-70 kilos - 12 inches in total.

My main issue is to rebalance the boat, since it is running wet at wot and with lot of positive trim.

My question is: Would I be better off to find a setback bracket of 12 inches that has less weight or does not the extra weight of the brackets mean so much speedwise?

I have a Phantom 25 with a Promax 300.

Cheers, Toffen G

I think you need more set back than that. But since this one weighs so much you might as well try it. With that much mass it might equal a larger bracket and at least you'll have something to try and see how much trim you need now.
