Well i was out in the boat today and was just putting along since there was some big ass cruisers....anyways im just putting along the shoreline at like 2600 r's and like 20 mph....just cruising and looking at houses and what not. I go to blip the throttle and nothing there.....try again and it just bogs. I look back and no water is pumping out the three hoses being that its drystacked. So then i just turn the key off and it keeps dieseling for about 15 seconds.....it was smoking a good bit so i grabbed the extinguisher and removed the cowl. I guess thats what i get for looking at house for 2 min and not keeping eye on water pressure :(

I think i squeaked a tear. My boating is defiantely over for the season and im selling out till next spring as i got college stuff to handle.

Heres a couple pics. I pulled on cylinder head and the cyliders have some aluminum stuck to them and one of the pistons on the exhuast side burnt away. it still turns over by hand so i dont know if the block is good? head good?

let me know what u guys think is salvagable

:( Sorry to hear man. I had a similar situation earlier this year..on my birthday yet. Except, the motor gave NO warning and all gauges checked OK...sad is it wasn't my motor. Hang in there

Do you have a heat buzzer? It might have saved you a lot of headache!
Dave.

No heat buzzer. :( I guess i learned the hard way. I took off the port side head and there is aluminum and scuffs in each of those 3 cylinders.....
