Just picked up a new lower and wanted to see what everybody thinks is the best stuff to put in it.

You'll get a bunch of different opinions, but I like the Merc high perf gear oil. (they sell two types)

I'm running the hi-perf Merc stuff rite now too.
I like this and Royal Purple Max-Gear.
My little 115 will spin around 200 rpm more with either of these than with "regular"/non hi-perf gear lubes.
Gives me a few RPM really cheap.

I like the Allisyn "O" weight in the race boats and Pennzoil 100 % syn in the lake boats.........

Im running Merc High Performance Lube in mine because Im having problems with water getting in. When they have to go in for repair I dont want any questions.
I would like to use Redline.

I use Pennzoil Synthetic because of price and availability, but Redline is probably as good or better than any... I also have heard of some Hi-Po guys using synthetic ATF, I just haven't been brave enough to try it yet.... I'm strictly a Lake Boat/River Racer sorta guy....
